The president of the Citizens' Power, Tarek William Saab, categorically rejected the recent statements of the US president, Donald Trump, which, in his opinion, represent a “supremacist threat” and imply “a brutal escalation against our sovereignty and our right to trade freely with the world”.
He also reiterated the support of the Republican Moral Council for the actions that the National Executive employs, within the framework of International Law, “to protect the rights of Venezuela as an independent nation over its natural resources and its right to freedom, navigation and trade.”
Saab specified that “this aberrant threat, which reveals the true intentions of the US government to steal, the resources of our country and of our continent”, which is why he urged the “Peoples and Governments of Our America to react in solidarity to the brutal imperial onslaught that is taking place against the right to self-determination of each of the Latin American countries; with the intention of bending down to place governments puppets and strip us of our natural wealth”.
During his statement, the attorney general was accompanied by Gustavo Vizcaíno, Comptroller General, and Alfredo Ruiz, Ombudsman.
