The Children's Pavilion of the Venezuela
International Book Fair 2024 (FILVEN) was visited by more than a thousand
girls and boys in the ten days it lasted in the spaces of the
National Art Gallery (GAN), as reported by the coordinator of this space, Augusto Melero Gómez.
According to press information from
FILVEN, more than 60 activities were carried out at this point in the fair, which
rescues the innocence of children. Through storytelling, the construction of
necklaces, bracelets and the creation of paintings, Gustavo Pereira's imaginary and his vision of the Warao
ethnicity were kept current.
The activity that attracted the most attention was
the creation of necklaces, which requires creativity to create an allegorical ethnic
garment with feathers, seeds and many colors. “The subject of painting, of
making, of building the necklace from his aesthetic vision has been a great success,”
said Gómez.
Gómez indicated that several publishers and
institutions participating in the 20th FILVEN were great allies for the
execution of these activities, such as the National Library
and Library Services Autonomous Institute (IABNSB), the Office of the Comptroller General of the Republic
and the Commander Hugo Chávez Foundation, among others.
Faced with the hyperstimulation
currently generated by technology in children and adolescents, Gómez
emphasized the need to promote more activities dedicated to literature.
“By applying coherent strategies, we can massively
promote the habit of reading in children,” explained the coordinator
of the pavilion, who described this action as a great challenge that is addressed from
spaces such as FILVEN.
