Last Thursday, April 16, the
Warairarepano Cable Car System received more than 190 inhabitants of
Caracas and Miranda, within the framework of the Social Tourism program promoted by the
Ministry of Popular Power for Tourism (MINTUR).
This public
policy guarantees the population's access to recreational and
natural spaces, as part of actions aimed at promoting the enjoyment of emblematic
places in the country.
The
day was attended by representatives of INASS, the María
Borjas Committee, the Center for the Development of Educational Quality,
educational institutions such as the U.E.E. Cecilio Acosta and the U.E.N. India Carimao, as well as
members of the Cultural Mission, Alternative Classrooms, the Urdanetista Movement, the Andrés Bello Complex and Unearte.
Attendees highlighted the value of the activity as a space for
community integration, recreation and encounter between educational and
cultural institutions.
In addition, spokespersons from some of the participating institutions
pointed out that these types of initiatives strengthen leisure,
training and the social bond between students and teachers.
The program foresees the holding of new days to different tourist
destinations in the country, with the objective of expanding the
population's access to natural and recreational areas in Venezuela.
