More than 200 officials participated in the forum “Disarming Violence, Arming Peace”

More than 200 officials from the citizen security bodies, the Bolivarian National Armed Forces (FANB), and the Justice System participated in the seminar “Disarming Violence, Arming Peace”, held at the headquarters of the National Experimental Security University (UNES), in Caracas.

The Deputy Minister of the Integrated Criminal Investigation System, Danny Ferrer Sandrea, spoke about public policies for disarmament and their impact on homicide and other related crimes.

“We have come to strengthen disarmament in the Homeland, weapons are intended for those who have to have them for law enforcement agencies in the country,” he said, a VISIIP press review.

In this regard, he explained that this action is based on the constitutional principle expressed in article 324 of the Magna Carta, which establishes that “only the State can possess and use weapons of war”, which has allowed the resumption of exclusive control over the carrying of weapons.

“The Minister of Popular Power for Internal Relations, Justice and Peace, Diosdado Cabello Rondón, has been clear with the mission: To promote comprehensive crime prevention in a perfect fusion of popular, military and police,” he said

The forum was attended by Yover Barrios, director general of the National Disarmament Service (SENADES), Germahint Flores, director of Arms, Ammunition, Ballistic Protection, Armor and Related Products of the General Directorate of Arms and Explosives (DAEX); Adela Contreras, vice-president of the National Institute against Racial Discrimination (INCIDIR) and Jesica Pereira, assistant prosecutor of the Public Ministry.

Likewise, the Deputy Minister stressed that the Venezuelan State has maintained its commitment to disarm violence in order to build peace
