The general director of Monitoring and Control of Environmental Impacts of the Ministry for Ecosocialism, César Solís, indicated that 3,40 officials are participating in the campaign “Christmas without Moss, in Peace and with Sovereignty”, which will last until December 31.
The operation involves the Bolivarian National Guard, the Public Ministry, the Bolivarian National Police and the CICPC, with attention to complaints from citizens through the 0800-AMBIENT number.
Solis explained that the measure aims to curb intervention on mosses, lichens, tree ferns and bromeliads, whose collection and commercialization are limited by resolution 000175 published in the Official Gazette No. 40,305.
The operation provides for control, inspection and immediate response to any activity that compromises these species, considered fundamental to ecological balance.
