The general manager of planning the MOVILNET Network, Víctor Martínez, said that, since the first day of the seismic events, the Venezuelan State Telecommunications company has carried out the necessary technical work to ensure the stabilization of the mobile network after the total loss of service following the tragic events of last June 24.
In a first step, the lifting of the service was carried out in the area of the port and airport of La Guaira because they were the concentration areas for rescue teams, then two mobile units were deployed in various severely affected areas to provide voice services.
To counteract these losses, the company, according to Martínez, has doubled the power of the antennas to guarantee coverage and has provided the call and SMS service free of charge so that families can communicate without any restrictions on the service.
Another of the actions carried out was the donation of Movilnet lines in the Transitional Camps so that people who were not users of this operator could have access to communications, as well as the alliances established with other operating companies and with international companies to ensure the connectivity of affected families.
