The Public Ministry (MP), this Monday, January 20, issued a statement highlighting that one of the barriers that have prevented greater progress in the trial of the members of the Aragua Train: it is the shelter they receive in Colombian territory.
It should be noted that the entry of these criminals into that territory was facilitated by former president Iván Duque and his boss Álvaro Uribe.
This was highlighted by the MP, which published the aforementioned statement on its social networks, to inform public opinion of the dismantling in the national territory of the band known as: “El Tren de Aragua”.
He points out that “since the beginning of our administration, we have carried out an arduous task to dismantle criminal groups such as the Aragua Train, or the gangs of El Koki, Wilmer Bachiller, El Conas, Carlos Capas, Eduardo Delicias and El Yiyi Boscán, among others”.
ANNOUNCEMENT
Venezuela dismantled a band known as the Aragua Train in its territory
The Public Prosecutor's Office informs national and international public opinion that the fight against Structured Organized Crime Groups is a central axis of its work in defense of peace, justice and human rights.
Since the beginning of our administration, we have carried out an arduous task to dismantle criminal groups such as the Aragua Train, or the gangs of El Koki, Wilmer Bachiller, El Conas, Carlos Capas, Eduardo Delicias and El Yiyi Boscán, among others.
The process to dismantle the Aragua Train was carried out in two stages, the first of which began in 2021 and consisted of the location and detention of its leaders and members.
The Second Stage began after the takeover of the Tocorón prison, carried out on September 20, 2023, and consisted of the definitive dismantling of the criminal organization and its financial muscle.
In total there are 48 arrested and tried for their participation in this criminal group, in addition to several of its members who died in clashes with security forces. In addition to the fact that a significant number of his henchmen have an arrest warrant and a red alert from Interpol.
We also express it as one of the barriers that have prevented greater progress in the trial of the members of the Aragua Train: it is the shelter they receive in Colombian territory.
The entry of these criminals into that territory was facilitated by former president Iván Duque and his boss Álvaro Uribe.
From Colombia, some of them moved to the United States, where they entered with the support of Venezuelan extremists such as Leopoldo López, Miguel Pizarro and Carlos Vecchio, supported by the murderer Gilber Caro, now arrested in that country: the FBI has several testimonies that document these vile actions.
There is evidence of communication between Gilbert Viloria as an intermediary for Lepoldo López with pranes inside Venezuelan prisons, who they asked for support to generate violence after his defeat in the elections of July 28.
As an institution that guarantees legality, we are committed to the fight against crime and are willing to resume criminal cooperation with the United States government to extradite any Venezuelan member of transnational criminal groups that commit crimes across the continent.
