MP charged Tareck El Aissami, Samark López and Simón Zerpa with several crimes

The Attorney General of the Republic, Tarek William Saab, reported that this Thursday, April 11, the filing hearing was held before the 2nd Counter-Terrorism Control Court, so that the Public Ministry (MP), within the corresponding legal period, could proceed to charge Tareck El Aissami, Samark López and Simón Zerpa, linked to the financial corruption scheme in Petrleos de Venezuela (PDVSA) -Crypto.

Through his account on the social network X, Saab specified that the above-mentioned subjects were charged with the crimes of Treason to the Fatherland, Appropriation or Distraction of Public Property, Boasting or Validation, Money Laundering and Criminal Association.

Second, he mentioned that “the motive for this plurality of crimes was promoted to execute an Economic Conspiracy simultaneously with Corruption”.

He emphasized that criminal actions had “the objective of achieving the implosion of our economy through the destruction of the national currency and the astronomical rise of the parallel dollar and with this criminal way of acting, producing economic and financial chaos and social violence.”

Saab explained that to achieve this objective, they used “for this purpose the Distraction of public funds from PDVSA and CVG so that they would be distracted by Sunacrip”.

He explained that it was then sought to launder money from private accounts of these corrupt individuals, as well as the purchase of high-end goods, “without the sums of money derived from the sale of crude oil entering the State through the BCV...”.

He also stressed that after the respective tax request made by the MP, “the Judge of the Case issued the following pronouncements: a) Admits the ordinary procedure, b) admits the requested tax classification of Treason. Appropriation or distraction of public property, as well as bragging or validating relationships or influence. Money Laundering and Criminal Association”.

The prosecutor specified that the measure of deprivation of liberty was also agreed for the accused.
