MP charged the person responsible for the crime of journalist Kalinina Ortega with qualified homicide

The Attorney General of the Republic, Tarek William Saab, reported this Monday, February 16, the capture and indictment of Armando Ricci, identified as responsible for the murder of journalist Kalinina Ortega, which occurred in 2016.

On his Instagram account, he explained that after investigations led by the Public Ministry of the Metropolitan Area of Caracas (AMC), it was determined that the subject took advantage of the victim's trust and vulnerability.

Ricci was gardening in the communicator's house, which provided her with easy access to commit the crime.

In 2016, the assailant took Ortega's life and, in an attempt to hide the fact, buried the body in the garden of his own residence.

The Public Prosecutor's Office charged Ricci with the crime of homicide qualified as a futile motive.

Currently, the subject is under the measure of deprivation of liberty while the judicial process continues. With this action, the authorities seek to close a cycle of impunity surrounding the disappearance and death of the communication professional.
