MP reported on the arrest of the obstetrician-gynecologist at the José María Vargas Hospital in La Guaira

The Public Ministry (MP) reported the arrest of the obstetrician-gynecologist at the José Maria Vargas Hospital, in La Guaira, for her connection with irregular events that occurred on March 4.

According to information issued by the MP, the detainee, identified as Deyanira Villegas, “was admitted to the José Maria Vargas Hospital on 01/03/25 with 24 weeks of pregnancy and complications; after that admission, the aforementioned doctor falsely informed the mother and her relatives that she had given birth to a newborn without vital signs, proceeding to take her to the morgue and at that precise moment family members who said goodbye to the baby they noticed that she was crying, being admitted to an incubator where she is in critical condition”.

Aranxa Marcano, the aunt of the 16-year-old adolescent mother, reported, through social networks, the irregularities presented during the birth of the girl, so the institution that guarantees the criminal action initiated the corresponding investigations.
