The Attorney General of the Republic, Tarek William Saab, reported this Thursday that the Public Ministry (MP) requested an arrest warrant against two police officers for alleged crimes of cruel treatment, arbitrary acts and illegitimate deprivation of liberty.

According to information issued by the institution, the case is being held by the 127 Public Prosecutor's Office with competence in human rights, “after receiving complaints about the abuse of authority committed by those involved”.

Through a video, it was observed that officials had beaten a citizen and deprived him of his liberty without legal justification; what the MP described as an abuse of office in which fundamental rights were violated.
