The Ministry of Popular Power for Internal Relations, Justice and Peace (MPPRIJP) reported that more than 800 people have arrived on Venezuelan soil, displaced by the violence generated in Colombia by clashes involving the National Liberation Army (ELN), the New Granada Army and the dissent of the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia (FARC), north of Santander.

According to figures from the official body, after the activation of the Simón Bolívar Humanitarian Task Force, the Bolivarian Government has recorded, as of January 19, 2025, that 352 women, 258, men and 202 children have been displaced to Venezuela, for a total of 812 displaced persons.

The authorities of the different governmental institutions provide care for health, food and shelter, as established in the doctrine of Bolivarian Diplomacy of Peace.

Since last Thursday, there have been clashes between the National Liberation Army (ELN) and the dissidents of the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia (FARC), in the Catatumbo region, in the north of the neighboring country.

The action resulted in the announcement of the suspension of the Peace Dialogue by the president of that country, Gustavo Petro, with the ELN.
