Mukumbarí cable car will not operate until February 12

Between Monday, January 19 and until Thursday, February 12, 2026, the Mukumbarí Cable Car System, in the state of Mérida, will temporarily pause its activities.

According to a post on the Instagram account of the cable car system, it responds to the beginning of the first stage of maintenance in the fourth and fifth grades, which consists of specialized technical work essential to ensure the operation of the system.

“This specialized technical process is essential to continue to guarantee the highest standards of safety, reliability and excellence that characterize us,” the publication states.

This suspension will cover the five stations that start in Barinitas and end in Pico Espejo. The cable car is expected to be ready for the carnival holiday.
