Multidisciplinary team evaluates stability of Torre David after technical inspection

The so-called Tower of David, a building located on Andrés Bello Avenue in Caracas and which was abandoned in 1994, is undergoing a comprehensive technical inspection process by competent authorities of Civil Protection, Fire, Risk Management and engineers who ensure its stable condition.

“It's an eye inspection, it's important to know, and this afternoon we're going to have a working table with all the eye evaluations we did, with the engineers and engineers of structural piles, to see the next step,” said Heidy García, director of the Venezuelan Foundation for Seismology (FUNVISIS).

He reported that on a roof of the structures that accompany the tower, in the northeast wing, the collapse of a roof over what was going to be an elevator pit was identified and the corresponding actions were already taken.

He specified that at the structural level the tower is in good condition, fully standing and is a strong structure, and called on the population to have confidence in the work being carried out that is being carried out at this time.
