After offering a specialized guided tour of all the rooms of the Carlos Cruz-Diez Museum of Printing and Design (MEDI), researcher María Sequera invites us to visit more frequently these spaces, which exhibit a variety of exhibitions that will last until March.
According to information from Venezolana de Televisión, on guided tours, spectators enjoy touring rooms one, two and three, more than 150 works by kinetic master Carlos Cruz-Diez, including The Chromosaturation Chamber, which offers an immersive experience for visitors.
In addition, in room four, they enjoy the works of the plastic artist Juan Carlos Hernández, who begins his exhibition work with a set of illustrations. In a second phase, he shows how the illustration led him to enter the field of infographics to tell a story. In its third phase and most current production, it proposes an artistic proposal using digital tools.
Hernández says he is exploring new ways to transmit information. It also highlights that his most recent work, called “Colors on the Fly”, is a tribute to the master Cruz-Diez, based on the work “Additive Color Chromointerference”, which since 1978 has been installed at the Maiquetía Simón Bolívar International Airport.
Room five presents approximately 50 pieces by the artist Víctor Vasarely, father of Op Art, an abstract artistic trend developed mainly in the 1960s, which is based on playing with the eyes to obtain images that simulate movement and all sorts of optical illusions.
In the “Explosion of Color” room, visitors can access works by more than 40 artists. They will also enjoy the work done by children with ADHD, Down syndrome and autism, who, through the workshops given at the MEDI, explored their artistic qualities.
