The head of the Government of the Capital District, Nahum Fernández, during his participation in the tribute to the victims of fascism, held at the Llaguno Bridge, recalled the events of April 11, 2002, when the right wing carried out a coup against the government of Commander Hugo Chávez.

In this regard, he pointed out that the extinct Metropolitan Police “had placed snipers at different heights”, and he questioned that some television channels “had lent themselves to manipulate information and sell a massacre to the world on the side that was not in history.”

He also said that “the idea was to put an end to the Chavista people, it was fascism that we saw these days when we lived it, even experienced it, the one who is now president Nicolás Maduro, who also came out as a standard here on April 13 to accompany the people and risk his skin as he always did.”

He specified that “President Nicolás Maduro set himself the goal of defeating fascism and establishing peace in the country, it is also a convincing fact because peace is a political fact and must be sustained, it must be taken care of”.
