This Wednesday, January 14, the Secretary of Mobilization of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV), Nahum Fernández, called on the militancy to stand together in defense of the President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro, and the first combatant, Cilia Flores, as well as to continue advancing the country's development.

“Unity is not in question right now, anyone who conspires against unity would be conspiring against Venezuela and against the Republic, everyone must add up for unity, but in unity of purpose (...) the unity to do and to execute,” he said, recalling that this is the first element to victory, as the Father of the Fatherland, Simon Bolivar, taught us.

Also, during the Great Workers' March for the liberation of President Maduro and Cilia Flores, in Caracas, he affirmed that the head of state at a historic moment like this would call the people to the streets, to continue to serve the people and demonstrate that the Bolivarian Government remains firm. “Nicolás Maduro is a warrior in this story, as was Commander Hugo Chávez,” he said.

Fernández also recognized the solidarity of sectors of the American people who have taken to the streets, marched and prayed demanding the release of the Venezuelan president. “If the people of the United States aren't afraid, neither are we. Here are courageous women and men determined to be free,” she said.

He also supported the leadership of the president in charge, Delcy Rodríguez, in assuring that they will continue to move forward with transformations, communal self-government, the organization of the working class and the strengthening of communes.

He reaffirmed that popular mobilization remains a permanent agenda and that the Venezuelan people will continue to take to the streets demanding the release of President Maduro and his wife. “They have him kidnapped and we want him released. The Venezuelan people love their president, love their historic project and are determined to defend the Republic,” he said.
