National Assembly began installation of Parliamentary Friendship Groups

The National Assembly (AN) began this Friday, January 23, the process of installing Parliamentary Friendship Groups with different nations of the world, which will be active for the Constitutional Legislative Period 2026-2031.

The AN began the process of installing the Groups with the Kingdom of Spain, the Republic of Türkiye, the European Union, Serbia and the Republic of Portugal, the AN reported on its website.

The event was held at the Bolivian Museum, where the second vice-president of the AN, deputy Grecia Colmenares, presided over the installation of these first five groups: the Venezuela-Spain Parliamentary Friendship Group, whose presidency was in charge of the deputy Desirée Santos Amaral and the vice-presidency was the deputy Iván Stalin González.

Another established friendship group is that of Venezuela-Portugal, which is chaired by the deputy Orlando Camacho and is accompanied, in the vice-presidency, by the deputy Henri Falcón.

The Venezuela-Serbia Parliamentary Friendship Group was also installed, which will be led by the deputy Jacqueline Fária, in the presidency, and the vice-presidency by the deputy Josneisy Paredes.

The Venezuela-Türkiye Parliamentary Friendship Group is led by Deputy Miguel Pérez Abad and is accompanied by Deputy América Pérez as Vice President.

Meanwhile, the Venezuela-European Union Parliamentary Friendship Group is led by Deputy Jorge Arreaza, as President, and Deputy Ilenia Medina as Vice President.

Next Monday and Tuesday, the Legislative Branch plans to install friendship groups with Nicaragua, Colombia, Brazil, Cuba, Mexico, Uruguay, Chile, Vietnam, Iran, Qatar, Palestine, South Africa, Algeria, Belarus, Russia, China and the Democratic People's Republic of Korea.
