As part of the fifteenth edition of the Caracas Book Fair, the National Center for Historical Studies (CNEH) celebrated the naming of four literary works this Monday.
According to Venezolana de Televisión, the books presented include the “Defense of the Liberator of the Middle of America” published by José Gregorio Linares and Ali Rojas Olaya; “Monroe against the Liberator. Counterpoint between Bolivarianism and Monroism”, “On the Paths of Decolonization”, by Bartolo Hernánde z; and “El Essequibo, a secret path to the annexation of South America to the United States”, by Gerónimo Pérez Rascaniere.
In this regard, the president of the CNEH, Omar Hurtado Rayugsen, who was in charge of the presentation in the Benito Yrady room of the National Art Gallery (GAN), compared the events of the colonial era with the thoughts of the Liberator and the current political and social situation in Venezuela.
“The common enemy at the time of Bolivar was Spanish imperialism, while today the president of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela Nicolás Maduro confronts the decadent AngloZionist empire of the West,” he said.
For his part, the historian and director of the Academic Council of that entity, José Gregorio Linares, summarized the content of the books presented.
Linares said that the center works to counter media attacks against Simón Bolívar's legacy. “These books are essential to the history of Venezuela, since they seek to defend the image of the Liberator,” he said.
The board of directors and employees of the entity were also present at the event, as well as intellectual members of the Ipasme Editorial Fund, Cesar Solórzano.
