From the spaces of Amanecer Llanero urban planning, in the state of Barinas, producers and producers from eight municipalities of that entity received 150 Trabucos Clap kits from the Bolivarian Government, through the Ministries of Popular Power of Urban Agriculture (Minppau) and Food.

These tools and supplies are delivered with the objective of strengthening food production and activating the Production Department of the Local Supply and Production Committees (Clap) in this small town.

In this regard, Jhoanna Carrillo, Minister of Urban Agriculture, together with Jackeline Farías, liaison of the National Directorate of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela in the entity, explained the meaning of the word “Trabuco” in Venezuela, as well as the “Trabuco Clap kit”, which is an alliance of the best productive team that must provide local production, that is, the ministries of Food, Productive Agriculture and Land and Urban Agriculture and linked to them peasant alliance with Science and Technology”.

“You are receiving a set of tools for this first phase; you were nominated by the Clap assemblies, there is a process and that process must be followed; you will now be part of a digital community on WhatsApp to report.” He also noted that Urban Agriculture and Food technicians participate in this community to advise and exchange knowledge, as part of the monitoring process.

He pointed out that farmers have a double task, the first is to produce and the second is that at the time of harvesting, “we must save 15% for seed reproduction, in order to guarantee the next planting”, and to advance to the second phase, improve the tools so that they are mechanized and more ergonomic,” he added.

Saúl Osío, Deputy Minister of Training and Agrourban Culture of the MINPPAU, stated that the National Government delivered, in the state of Barinas, 150 Trabuco Clap kits to 150 productive Clap kits, in a first phase. “We have reached 1,900 claps served this month, at the national level; there are 2,500 claps for the month of July and reach 23,000 claps, which, on the 8th anniversary of the claps, announced that spaces for agricultural production will be promoted in these 23,000 claps.”

The Deputy Minister assured that the Trabuco Clap program responds to the following aspects: organization, training and production. “These kits are not just tools and seeds, they come with a lot of technical support and advice from the Ministry of Urban Agriculture.”

He also explained that the production of food for local supply is essential, allowing barriers to be overcome in order to guarantee the stimulation of production in each of the communities in Venezuela.

Agrourbans show their gratitude

Diana Bolívar, a resident of the Antonio José de Sucre municipality, in Barinas, said “thank you president for this Trabuco Clap kit that you are giving us, supporting our community, to produce food for our country. We are with you President and this July 28 we are going to win with Nicolás,” he said.
