In an immediate response to the military aggression suffered on January 3, the “Always Together” program of the Great Venezuelan Youth Mission (GMVJ) continues to deploy in the Rómulo Gallegos residential area of La Soublette, La Guaira state, with the objective of addressing the psychophysiological consequences in the population.
According to a press release released by Venezolana de Televisión (VTV), a multidisciplinary team approached the inhabitants of Block 12, the point of direct impact of foreign missiles.
“People at La Soublette are experiencing acute stress. Terror must be externalized to regulate psychophysiological functioning. Our mission is to provide the necessary support so that victims learn to manage their own bodies and channel pain towards transformative action,” said psychologist José “Tato” Guzmán, who is part of this approach plan.
In addition, in the above-mentioned text, it was indicated that the symptoms presented by the inhabitants of this town include: State of hypervigilance with exaggerated shock and constant alert; generalized nocturnal anxiety with insomnia, tachycardia and intrusive ideas; fracture of environmental security in homes; acute reaction to stress with feelings of helplessness, frequent crying and depressive symptoms.
If you or a family member in the affected areas have persistent fear, insomnia or distress, call the toll-free hotline: 0800-2-JUNTOS (0800-2586867).
