In a joint effort to promote positive values and promote the integral development of youth, the Football Goes to School program was launched, an initiative promoted in partnership with FIFA and the Venezuelan Football Federation (FVF), which seeks to integrate the king sport into the national education system.
This program represents a powerful tool for transforming society from the classroom, encouraging the use of time in affirmative activities such as physical education. In addition, it becomes a channel for discovering and organizing the sporting talent of Venezuelan boys, girls and young people.
The Minister of Popular Power for Education, Héctor Rodríguez, expressed his absolute support for the values promoted by FIFA through this initiative. “I listen very carefully to the values that the FIFA program tries to instill and they are 100% consistent with the values that the Venezuelan education system is trying to instill,” he said.
Rodríguez also highlighted the scope of the program in the country: “Count on the 20,000 institutions and six million students, including all the physical education teachers, who are delighted with this dynamic.”
He emphasized the State's commitment to this alliance: “We are going to get married in one direction, occupy the time of Venezuelan youth healthily and fill the sport with glory.”
For his part, the president of the FVF thanked the national government for allowing soccer to enter schools, and this initiative will allow the sport to expand nationally. “We're going to reach every corner of the country.”
Finally, the representative of FIFA Football Schools, Antonio Buenaño, congratulated the efforts made by Venezuela to be part of this global program. “A program in which education and football come together, using sport as an educational tool”.
With this alliance, Venezuela is taking a firm step towards the massification of school football, betting on an active, healthy and value-filled youth.
