More than 400,000 children under 10 years of age will be vaccinated across the country, as part of the 2025 Bolivarian Immunization Campaign that began yesterday and will run until May 4, said the Deputy Minister of Collective Health Networks, Jesús Osteicochea.

In statements collected by the newspaper Úlmas Noticias, Osteicochea specified that the immunization program is being implemented in the 24 states, the 593 Comprehensive Community Health Areas (ASIC) and the 15,000 offices in Barrio Adentro, as well as in 5,400 vaccination posts that will be available in the national territory.

“We have the goal of one million doses, there are more than 14 preventable diseases; we are guaranteeing vaccines in border areas for our indigenous population,” he said.

Nury Valderrama, director of the Expanded Immunization Program (PAI), indicated that children under five, school-age children, pregnant women and adults will be immunized, with an emphasis on older people. In addition, he noted that 5,400 emblematic schools will be addressed throughout the territory.

Among the biologics that will be applied are those that prevent diseases such as diphtheria, whooping cough, polio, hepatitis, yellow fever, tetanus and tuberculosis.

In Caracas, points were opened in the Simón Rodríguez community, Asic de Pinto Salinas; in the Children's Foundation, CDI Bolívar y Martí, in Propatria; in the community of El Oonto, in Caricuao, and on 7th Street in El Valle, Asic Virgen de Betania, said Valderrama.
