The President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro, emphasized that in a conversation with former Brazilian Foreign Minister Celso Amorín, he told him that in Venezuela the opposition is not democratic but a fascist and counterrevolutionary opposition.

From the Miraflores Palace, where he spoke out about the violence that oppositional extremism unleashed in various areas of the country seeking to reissue the guarimbas of 2017, the National President condemned the actions carried out by small groups that he revealed were paid for.

“They were ordered to attack the headquarters of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela and what is that called? Terrorism! They attacked and burned CNE headquarters and damaged machinery. Some of the material perpetrators of these acts were captured and they have confessed that they are being paid,” he said.

He pointed out that in the face of these actions, the leadership has ordered itself not to fall into provocations to prevent the objectives of these plans of opposition extremism from being met.

“We have told the militancy not to fall into provocations because their objective is that when they attack the headquarters there will be a bloodbath,” he said, while stressing that in the face of these events it is clear that the only guarantee of peace is the Bolivarian Revolution.
