The Venezuelan people gathered in Caracas and various cities in the country to demand the release of President Nicolás Maduro and First Lady Cilia Flores.
Maríelis González, resident of the Sucre parish, highlighted the perseverance of the people throughout history and the strength it transmits to the president and his family. For her, mobilization is an act of support and solidarity born from the hearts of Venezuelans. “Perseverance in each of our processes has accompanied us historically. Today we are on the streets because we know that our project is fair and because we feel the image of our president and his family in our hearts. We will give them strength to move forward.”
For his part, José Ramírez, a worker at the Coche parish, emphasized that the struggle does not cease and that the People will continue to write history with unity, love and peace. He stressed that the central outcry is clear: the return of the president and the first combatant.
“We will continue to build and write history together more than ever, with love, peace and the will to recover our country. The Venezuelan people demand the return of our president, Nicolás Maduro, and the first female fighter, Cilia Flores,” he said.
In this regard, Carmen Pérez, community leader of Petare, recalled that Maduro's order was to maintain permanent mobilization and that today communities are carrying it out peacefully. He reiterated that the people constitutionally elected their leaders and demand respect for their sovereignty.
Luis Herrera, a young man from La Dolorita parish, said that the wait for the return of Maduro and Flores is full of love and hope. He emphasized that Venezuela is a free country, open to trade and peace, and that the demand of its people is legitimate and firm.
“We await our president with love and joy. Venezuela is free and does not accept anything from anyone. The doors of this country are open to trade, peace and respect. This is why we demand their return, because we are a people of peace and dignity.”
The mobilization reaffirmed the commitment of the Venezuelan people to defend their sovereignty and demand respect for the popular will. From all the parishes and communities, the message was clear: “Let Maduro return, let Cilia Flores return!”
