The National Music Company, through the National Philharmonic Orchestra of Venezuela, invited the Caracas public to the tribute “Lauro. Symphony of Voices and Guitar”, commemorating the 40th anniversary of the physical departure of the outstanding composer and guitarist Antonio Lauro.

On his Instagram account, he indicated that the program will take place on April 18 and 19 in the José Félix Ribas room of the Teresa Carreño Theater, with an opening on Saturday at 4:00 p.m., which will include a talk by Dr. Alejandro Bruzual about the teacher's life and work.

Later, teachers Ignacio Ornés and Jhibaro Rodríguez will offer interpretations of their own repertoire and pieces by Venezuelan composers, accompanied by the orchestra and the Vicente Emilio Sojo Choir.

On Sunday, April 19 at 11:00 a.m., the National Philharmonic Orchestra together with the Vicente Emilio Sojo Choir will present a special program that includes emblematic works such as Cantclaro, the Concerto for Guitar and Orchestra No. 1 and Giros Negroides, with the participation of guest soloists.

The tribute seeks to highlight the legacy of Antonio Lauro, considered one of the most important figures in Venezuelan classical guitar and an international reference in Latin American academic music.
