National President: A great public opinion movement is rising in the United States to support Venezuela

During the broadcast of his program With Maduro+, the President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro, thanked the demonstrations of solidarity that have emerged in the United States in support of Venezuela and its right to peace and in rejection of imperialism's warmongering threats.

“A great movement of public opinion is rising in the United States to support Venezuela in its fight for peace and to completely reject these unjustified illegal and immoral threats,” he said.

He argued that the American people are against any war adventure on the part of the armed forces of this country due to past experiences in countries such as Vietnam, Iraq, Afghanistan and others. 

 “The people of the United States have experienced it! The people of the United States were told that Vietnam had attacked some ships in the year 64 and it was a lie, and then it was discovered that the event known as the Gulf of Tonkin provocation was the United States that attacked its own ships to justify a war that lasted at least 11 years with a million Vietnamese dead, with thousands of soldiers dead and with serious physical and mental injuries, as American society knows,” he said.

He also recalled that “the people of the United States know perfectly well that Iraq's weapons of mass destruction were a blatant lie that they repeated and repeated and got into the war in Iraq, and they got into Afghanistan, and everything they invented with Libya, and they destabilized all of Africa; eternal wars criminal wars illegal wars unjustified wars how many American soldiers were injured for life how many died and how many people they killed in Afghanistan in Iraq is numbered in the millions!”

In the midst of this scenario, the National President reiterated that “fortunately a movement is rising up with the truth in Venezuela that I hope will stop the hands of those who, in a crazy way, are firing missiles and trying to fill South America with blood in the name of great lies.”
