National president calls for the first National Popular Consultation this February 2

The Constitutional President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, during his message to the Nation from the Teresa Carreño Theater in Caracas, highlighted the strength of Venezuelan democracy, which includes 10 electoral processes for positions of popular election and six communal consultations for direct democracy.

“In 2024, Venezuela reached a living and active consolidation of democracy, a permanent democracy tested, harassed, besieged, threatened and attacked. If anyone wants to talk about democracy and the laws of society in its values, talk about Venezuela, which has the most powerful democracy known in this entire continent,” stressed the Head of State.

He recalled that during the Bolivarian Revolution, 31 elections were held, of which socialist forces have triumphed in 29, and he also pointed out that this year there will be 10 electoral processes and six popular consultations, one of which will be held on February 2, 2025 in honor of the date of Commander Chávez's inauguration in 1999.
