The president of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, said this Thursday that it was the People and the teachers of the Homeland who brought the famous Luis Beltrán Prieto Figueroa to the National Pantheon.
From the Mausoleum, in Caracas, where he received the symbolic remains of the teacher Prieto Figueroa, the Head of State highlighted the well-deserved tribute paid to him at the Federal Legislative Palace, “which saw him shine as a senator for several decades”.
He stressed that, at the exit of the National Assembly, the distinguished revolutionary of education “was received by his teachers, by the people of Caracas, and they came in a brilliant procession of joy and patriotism marching through all these streets to the doors of the Pantheon.”
“It was the hands of the People and the teachers of Venezuela who brought Maestro Prieto Figueroa to the Pantheon. Here is Maestro Prieto next to the Liberator, next to the heroes of the Fatherland. Open doors to Maestro Prieto, welcome teacher to the place where he always had to be. Prieto Figueroa has entered the National Pantheon, the Pantheon of the Fatherland,” said the Dignitary.
