National Short Story Festival awarded new literary talents

The National Short Story Festival
concluded its third edition with the award of awards to the
winning authors of 2026, during a day held at the Municipal Palace of
Calabozo, Guárico state.
Lesly Pérez, César León, Aquiles Silva,
Indira Herrera and Vitalia Ferrer won first places in the Fiction, Romance, Historical, Mystery and Fantasy
categories, respectively.
Special mentions were also awarded to Gilfray Vargas, Orama Labrador, Anyelo Cambero and Arelys Montenegro.
During the closing ceremony, the
digital book “Anthologies of Short Stories” was presented, corresponding to the previous edition,
which brings together texts by 18 participating writers in 128 pages.
In addition, the book "Guaribe” was named.
An open window to the immense field of its history”, by the cultor, writer
and chronicler Soraya González, dedicated to preserving characters, events,
institutions and customs of this Guariqueña town.
With this edition, the festival strengthens spaces for the promotion of reading, writing and creativity, while contributing to making the literary production of communities visible.
