The Venezuelan Symphony Orchestra (OSV) will commemorate the declaration of the University City of Caracas as a World Heritage Site by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO), with a concert next Sunday, May 31, at 11:15 a.m., under the iconic clouds of Alexander Calder in the Aula Magna.

It also celebrates the historical and architectural value of the campus of the Central University of Venezuela (UCV), a masterpiece by Carlos Raúl Villanueva, which has been on the select list of five universities worldwide since 2000, the Ministry of Popular Power for Communication and Information indicated in a press release.

The selection of pieces is designed to recall the tradition and history that come together in the Aula Magn a, works by Brahms and Grieg, the Fugue Criolla by Juan Bautista Plaza, composed by the Castellanos brothers, these two works were the ones that were used to test the acoustics of the Aula Magna when the Calder clouds were being installed,” said the vice-president of the Venezuelan Symphony Orchestra, Lifir Oscher.

This cultural celebration is an achievement of the work of the Presidential Commission for the Recovery of the UCV, “Come to the UCV to appreciate this wonder, just as you can enjoy Angel Falls or Waraira Repano. We have this unique space, built by Venezuelans with 100% national talent and recovered in the same way,” said Francisco Garcés, president of the commission.
