This Thursday morning, June 12, the capped sky covered the entire city of Caracas, which helped Gabriel's father, after leaving his first-born son in a high school in San Bernardio, to get lost in his thoughts about what fate holds for his boy and the study opportunities he would have to shape his future.
As the light drizzle wet the windshield of this parent's vehicle, something caught his attention. A significant number of “beige shirt” students were training to enter the striking sports and cultural complex where “there seemed to be a party, something”.
Curiosity invaded this father who, without much thought, parked nearby and went to see what was going on. Fascination and amazement flooded him, when he realized that in that space, the Guayana Esequiba Cultural and Sports Complex, the Expoferia of Study Opportunities was taking place, where the country's universities show their academic offer to young people.
The boys, surprised and curious, walked around the stands and found out about the area in which they would like to continue their studies. The spaces corresponding to the Hugo Chávez University of Health Sciences (UCS) and the Experimental Security University (UNES) are some of the most frequented by rowdy students, who, with a lot of patience and pedagogy, are explained the different National Training Programs (PNF) that are taught in these houses of studies.
The attention is so careful that, during his walk around the UNES stand, Gabriel's father was motivated to pursue a master's degree at this university founded in Revolution.
After this impressive walk, although the fog did not stop, Gabriel's father's concerns were reduced and a triumphalist thought took him by storm: “Only in Revolution is this possible, no more high school graduates without a place!”
Thus, with the song Chávez Corazón del Pueblo in the car player and in a hurry to get to the office, Gabriel's father's journey through this innovative fair culminated.
