New authorities appointed in entities attached to the Ministry for Culture

The National Executive appointed new authorities in entities and bodies attached to the Ministry of Popular Power for Culture (MPPC) through publication in the Official Gazette.

In Gazette No. 43,348, dated April 6, 2026, the appointment of the new president of the National Autonomous Cinematography Center (CNAC) was announced, with the filmmaker Román Chamorro Guerra, who currently serves as representative of the official sector on the Executive Committee of the CNAC.

Meanwhile, citizen Elis Alberto Labrador was appointed Executive Director of Monte Ávila Editores Latin America C.A.

Likewise, citizen Ubenjuly Kyubcenaya Escalona Díaz was appointed Human Resources Manager of the National Book Center (Cenal).

On the other hand, according to Official Gazette No. 43,343, dated March 26, 2026, the appointment as Director General of the Strategic Office for Monitoring and Evaluation of Public Policies was announced to citizen Ronald José Sánchez Reyes, who currently serves as professor and cultural liaison coordinator of the Vice-Rectorate for Agricultural Production (VPA) of the National Experimental University of the Western Plains Ezequiel Zamora (Unellez).

In addition, citizen Yris María Villamizar González was appointed as General Director of Training and Research for Cultures and the Arts, in her capacity as manager, attached to the Office of the Deputy Minister of Culture of the MPPC. Villamizar is a writer, reading promoter, poet and visual artist; she currently works as Strategy Manager at Cenal.

These designations are part of actions aimed at strengthening institutional management and the development of cultural public policies in the country, the MPPC said on its website.
