The New York City professional workers' union, Professional Staff Congress (PSC), approved a resolution condemning “any military intervention, coercive action or aggression by the United States against Venezuela.”
This was announced by the Foreign Minister of the Republic, Yván Gil, through his Telegram channel, in which he specified that in the document, the union organization denounces that Venezuela and its people have been the subject of a campaign of demonization, xenophobia and racism, which has been used to justify possible intervention in the hemisphere.
He also indicated that the Professional Staff Congress brings together more than 30,000 workers, including teachers and administrative staff, from the City University of New York. “They have decided to present a resolution to other union branches, with the purpose of encouraging the construction of a broad movement in rejection of the interventionist policies of the United States Government against Venezuela,” he said.
He stated that the initiative seeks to promote respect for the sovereignty of peoples, peace, international law and the self-determination of Latin America.
