Nicaragua expresses its solidarity and support in the struggles for sovereignty and peace in Venezuela, following a new unilateral action by the United States government to declare the closure of the Venezuelan nation's airspace.

Through a signed statement, co-presidents of Nicaragua, Daniel Ortega and Rosario Murillo, expressed their solidarity with the Bolivarian Government and with the people of Venezuela

“Our full and permanent solidarity with the great and brave people of Simón Bolívar, Hugo Chávez and Nicolás Maduro, the glorious Venezuelan people, to whom we express at all times and circumstances, as we have said so many times, our support in the struggles we are waging,” said the couple.

They also pointed out that these immense battles for the desire to live show sovereignty and dignity in justice and peace.

On the grounds of supposedly combating drug trafficking, the United States has maintained a naval and air deployment since September in waters of the Caribbean Sea near Venezuela.

In this context, the President of the United States, Donald Trump, warned this Saturday, November 29, in a message through his social network Truth, that airlines and pilots must bear in mind that Venezuela's airspace “will remain closed in its entirety.”
