The National Assembly of Nicaragua ratified this Thursday a partial reform to the country's Political Constitution.
“The Law of Partial Reform to the Political Constitution of the Republic of Nicaragua was approved in its entirety in the Second Legislature,” the Parliament reported through social networks.
It should be noted that this reform was promoted by the Executive, whose novelties include the creation of the figure of the co-president of the Republic, according to a press release from Sputnik.
“This reform strongly states that the State of Nicaragua is revolutionary, and also that power resides in the people and its structure is deepened,” said the first vice-president of the Assembly, Arling Alonso.
According to FSLN legislators, the reforms, whose final provisions were approved this Thursday, confirm in the constitution that the State has as its main vocation the fight against poverty, in order to create a just society under conditions of equality, equity and complementarity.
