“North American society could be the most repressed on the planet, possibly that's the truth,” said the deputy to the National Assembly (AN), Francisco Torrealba, during his participation in the program Sin Truco Ni Maña.
Torrealba stressed that this repression operates silently and that, at present, it is manifested in internal tensions involving the armed forces and regional authorities. “What we see today are governors like the one in California openly confronting the federal administration, questioning the use of their resources and the centralized economic model. California, for example, has promoted initiatives that border on separatists,” he said.
The parliamentarian also criticized the bipartisan system in the United States while defining it as exhausted. “The confrontation between Democrats and Republicans has ceased to be functional. The government itself seems to benefit from the chaos, and the president acts as if shutting down the administration were a favorable strategy,” he said.
In this regard, he warned that millions of public officials have been dismissed or are unpaid, while large sectors of the population have lost access to basic services such as food and health. “The crisis is not only institutional, it's human. The president is leaving millions of citizens without a livelihood, as if the dismantling of the public apparatus were part of his plan,” he concluded.
