The national strike against the policies of the Government of Daniel Noboa continues to unfold. More and more citizens are joining the rejection of the Executive, so at the moment, across the country, more than nine main roads are reported to be closed as part of the social struggle.
These days of demonstrations began after the Government signed Decree 126, which led to the elimination of the diesel subsidy. What the different organizations and unions explain clearly affects the people because it means that life becomes more expensive: the price of a bus ticket, the cost of food, and other axes go up.
During the first 12 days of the national strike, which took place on October 3, the environment in the different communities has been to defend their rights at all costs, they have done so with marches, rallies and road closures, a measure that is growing in the face of the refusal of the Executive to listen to the people and meet the needs of the most vulnerable sectors.
In road closures, such as demonstrations at the national level, community members, unions and organizations have carried them out peacefully with a single tool: their voice. However, the Government has responded with the use of force, repression, tear gas, gunfire, military tanks and blows against anyone who even opposes its decisions.
