The Norwegian Sovereign Fund, considered the largest in the world with almost two trillion dollars in assets, made a decision to exclude from its portfolio the American corporation Caterpillar and five Israeli banks, identified for their direct participation in violations of international humanitarian law in Palestine.
This measure is in compliance with the Ethics Council, which warned of the “unacceptable risk” that these entities will continue to contribute to crimes against the civilian population in Gaza and the occupied West Bank, Telesur details.
It is not new for the Norwegian fund to take concrete action against Israeli apartheid. At the beginning of August 2025, it had already liquidated its participation in 11 Israeli companies, and on the 18th of this month it announced the departure of six other firms linked to the massacre in Gaza.
Norway joined the global rejection of companies that profit from occupation and repression, and the peoples of the Global South remain firm in their solidarity with the Palestinian cause.
