The Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR) issued a critical report in which it denounces that the persistent operations of the Israeli Air Force in Lebanese territory are not limited to military objectives, but constitute direct attacks against the civilian population and emergency services.

According to the agency's detailed analysis, these actions represent a serious violation of international humanitarian law. The report documents multiple incidents in which precision bombings have hit multi-storey residential buildings, resulting in the death of entire families and the systematic destruction of basic infrastructure.

One of the most alarming points in the report is the documentation of deliberate attacks against medical and healthcare personnel. OHCHR stresses that these units, protected under international standards even in times of war, are being bombed as they try to assist the wounded, aggravating the humanitarian crisis and leaving thousands of people without access to critical care.

“The operations reveal a pattern of direct attacks that do not distinguish between combatants and civilians, especially affecting those whose mission is to save lives,” says the United Nations (UN) document.

The report also highlights that the use of heavy weapons in densely populated areas has caused the collapse of civilian buildings, wiping out entire families. The UN reiterates that these acts can be classified as war crimes, urging the international community to demand immediate accountability and the cessation of hostilities against non-military objectives.
