The Venezuelan athlete Rosa Rodríguez won the Olympic diploma in the sport's top event, after placing eighth in hammer throwing, with a mark of 72.98 meters.

Rodríguez achieved his best record of the season on his second attempt, in his first Olympic final and fourth participation in an Olympic Games, the Venezuelan Olympic Committee reported through a post on his account on the social network X.

The gold medal went to Canada's Camryn Rogers with 76.97 m, the silver medal was won by the American Annette Echikunwoke with 75.48 m and the bronze medal was won by China's Zhao Jie with 74.27 m.

Rodríguez was the only Latin American to compete in the final of hammer-throwing.

This is the third Olympic diploma obtained by the Venezuelan delegation, in addition to that achieved by the men's sabre team and Raiber Rodríguez in the Grecorrom Ana fight.
