OPEC Fund for International Development stands in solidarity with Venezuela and announces aid delivery

The OPEC Fund for International Development expressed solidarity with the people of Venezuela, in the face of the tragic consequences caused by the recent and devastating earthquakes that have seriously affected numerous communities in the national territory.

Given the magnitude of the emergency, which has claimed human lives, left a large number of people injured and caused damage to infrastructure, the OPEC Fund activated an immediate humanitarian response mechanism.

“The OPEC Fund is providing an emergency grant of US$ 500,000 through the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies in support of the operations of the Venezuelan Red Cross,” details a publication of the OPEC Fund through a publication in its X account.

The purpose of this contribution is to ensure medical care, the provision of basic resources and the logistical support necessary for rescue and relief efforts carried out in the field.

“Our thoughts go out to everyone affected during this difficult time,” he added.

The OPEC Fund thus reaffirms its historic commitment to its member countries in times of crisis, maintaining its work for sustainable development and the well-being of nations.
