Padrino López: Venezuela wants peace and defends its sovereignty

The Minister of Popular Power for Defense, Vladimir Padrino López, affirmed that Venezuela wants peace and highlighted the role of the Bolivarian National Armed Forces (FANB) as guarantors of the sovereignty and dignity of the Venezuelan people.

“What we want is freedom, to live in freedom (...) we have demonstrated that we want to be free, we have demonstrated that we want peace for this country, we have demonstrated that we want a country in prosperity free of submission,” he emphasized.

Padrino López expressed his gratitude to the men and women in uniform for their courage, audacity and resistance in a context of American aggression. He stressed that spiritual strength and military composure have allowed the country, despite difficulties, to maintain peace and a firm determination for independence.

He noted that Venezuela is facing an escalation of sanctions and coercive measures, but it has demonstrated its resilience. “Dignity is priceless,” he said, recalling that the struggle for freedom is historic and that the country does not accept the submission or imposition of imperial models.

He also indicated that what is happening in Venezuela has an impact on the world order, determining whether a system of cooperation and respect for the sovereignty of peoples or a scenario of chaos and domination will prevail. “We are playing a transcendent role in humanity,” he said.
In the company of senior military officers, Padrino Lópe z highlighted the loyalty and unity of the FANB as a bastion of patriotism. He reiterated that it is time to reaffirm the will to fight and show the world that Venezuela is a free, generous people with a vocation for prosperity.

Finally, the minister wished Venezuelan families a merry Christmas, inviting them to reflect on the universal message of love and solidarity. “These days are for thinking, for being better human beings and more useful to our country,” he concluded.
