Padrino López: We are doing everything in our power to avoid war

In Venezuela, we are doing everything in our power to prevent war, to preserve peace within our territory, said Defense Minister G/J Vladimir Padrino López.

“I call on the people of Venezuela to have confidence in our leader, commander in chief, President Nicolás Maduro, who is taking this step by step, pulse by pulse, I repeat, to preserve national independence and our intact sovereignty,” Padrino said in a video posted on his Telegram channel.

In addition, the senior military official explained that with the deployment, this Friday, of the Management Bodies for Integral Defense (ODDI) in the states of Aragua, Falcón and Zulia, 27 territorial actions are being carried out “against the air campaign and systematic wear and tear, with the purpose of maintaining daily life, maintaining and avoiding strategic paralysis.”

In this regard, he explained that among the tasks to be fulfilled by the ODDI are verifying food reserves, hospital availability, the use of community radios and all available communication media, the defense of cities, the defense and protection of directions of approach that lead to those main cities throughout the national territory, the execution of maritime patrols in ports, airports, documentation of all military vehicles and their deconcentration.
