Palestinian institutions have reported that the death toll in Gaza has exceeded 200,000 since 2023, due to the intensification of Israeli military operations in the territory.

Authorities have stressed that the number could rise, as numerous bodies remain under the rubble of collapsed buildings that rescue teams have been unable to access.

The Palestinian Central Bureau of Statistics has confirmed the figure, backed by experts such as Stuart Casey-Maslen, head of the Geneva Academy of International Humanitarian Law and Human Rights.

International organizations reiterated the call to ensure immediate assistance. Casey-Maslen highlighted the urgency of providing food, water, shelter and basic medical care.

The expert added that, in addition to humanitarian aid, a safe evacuation of the injured and displaced is necessary due to the deterioration of conditions in the area. “People are still dying in Gaza,” he said.
