This Monday, thousands of displaced Palestinians began their return to the northern Gaza Strip using the Rashid Coastal Street in the center of the territory. Starting at 9:00 (local time), those displaced were allowed to travel north in vehicles after being inspected, using Salah al-Din Street.

Many of them spent the last few nights outdoors on these streets, enduring the intense cold while waiting for Israeli forces to allow them to return to their homes after being forced to flee to the south.

Most of the displaced walk a route of at least 7 kilometers along Rashid Street, which connects the north and south of Gaza.

This road has been the scene of numerous massacres committed by Israeli forces against civilians trying to escape the conflict.

The violence of the Israeli Army has led to the displacement of 85 percent of the population of Gaza, that is, almost two million people.
