La Paradura del Niño is not just a festive event, it is the heart of Venezuelan identity that beats in every corner of the country, which marks the official closing of the Christmas holidays.

That is why the National Art Gallery (GAN) invites the entire population this Friday, January 30, at 10:00 a.m., to enjoy this cultural scene where the Fine Pearl Group and the Brotherhood of the Child Jesus of Petare will be present.

La Paradura del Niño is a traditional Catholic festival in the Venezuelan Andes (Mérida, Táchira, Trujillo), celebrated from January 1 to February 2 (Candlemas Day).

This tradition consists of standing up the representative image of the Child God that is placed at birth, which symbolizes the first steps of Jesus in this world, by the hand of Mary, his mother and Joseph, his earthly father.
