Paraguay registers almost 1 thousand active cases of dengue

The Ministry of Public Health and Social Welfare of Paraguay reported that 927 cases of dengue fever have been registered since week 29 of 2024 to date.
In this regard, the health authority specified that during weeks 6, 7 and 8 of this year, 117 cases were counted in 13 regions of the South American country.
Among the affected areas are: Presidente Hayes (Chaco), Central, Amambay (north), Alto Paraguay (Chaco), Concepción (north), Paraguarí (center south), Guairá (center east), Caaguazú (center east), Cordillera (center south), San Pedro (north), Canindeyú (northeast) and Itapúa (south).
For her part, the director of Health Surveillance, Andrea Ojeda, urged not to let down our guard and persist in control and prevention actions, while warning that the entry of this serotype could generate an explosion of cases in the country, according to a Xinhua press release.
