This Sunday, the 164th edition of the Blessing of the Sea took place, one of the most emblematic religious traditions in the state of Carabobo during Holy Week.
A large number of parishioners attended the Eucharist as part of the Easter celebration.
The solemn mass was presided over by Monsignor José Antonio Da Conceiçao, bishop of Puerto Cabello, who during his homily highlighted the profound spiritual meaning of this meeting, which unites seafarers, locals and visitors, in a single feeling of gratitude.
“This activity reflects an act of love between God and his people,” said the bishop during his speech, while stressing the importance of keeping alive this tradition, which symbolizes the renewal of hope and Christian faith in the region.
The activity was supported by the Government of Carabobo State and the Mayor's Office of the Puerto Cabello municipality, who guaranteed the logistical development and safety of the thousands of attendees who gathered on the shores of the Caribbean.
