The president of the Permanent Committee on Ecosocialism of the National Assembly (AN), Deputy Oliver Rivas, reported that parliamentarians from different states of the country will be deployed to promote the campaign on preventive measures to address the Super Child climate phenomenon.
During an interview with Venezolana de Televisión, he explained that the objective is to make the population aware of the energy savings to be developed during three months of impact, planned by specialists in the field.
In this regard, he highlighted the importance of addressing the situation under the term of crisis or climate emergency, as stated by the president in charge of the Republic, Delcy Rodríguez, since this environmental event alters the country's rainy and dry seasons.
He warned that this phenomenon could also compromise reservoirs and, therefore, electricity generation and agricultural production.
He assured that for years the AN has prioritized environmental protection, and that in this legislative period two legal instruments are contemplated to address environmental damage, the draft Organic Law for the Integral Management of Climate Change; and the draft Law on the Integral Management of Waste and Solid Waste.
He also highlighted the coordination with the Ministry of Popular Power for Ecosocialism (MINEC) to demand compliance with environmental regulations, as well as the support of the AN for the “Chuquisaca Plan”, originally announced by the President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro in December 2025 and continued by the president in charge Delcy Rodríguez, who plans to plant more than 10 million trees.
Rivas urged citizens and the private sector to act responsibly and adopt the efficient use measures proposed by the Bolivarian Government to protect the environment and the functioning of all sectors.
